In a new move, Science released studies about a new man found in Indonesia to coincide with the hype over the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Officials describe it very Scientifically as a hobbit-sized man. The rendering shows the “hobbit” had 17th century England styled chops and a muscular body.
Tools were found with the skeleton but it could not be confirmed if they included an ale mug or a pipe. Locals reported small crops of tobyweed growing around the area the skeleton was found.

I guess I should start out by saying why I am doing this. I have been thinking about starting a blog for quite a while, but hesitated because I didn’t want to do it just to hear myself “talk”. Instead of rising above that and finding a good reason to blog I simply gave into it, this way close friends and relatives don’t have to hear it from me anymore. First, let me say that everything I write should be taken with a grain of salt, not that anyone reading this would actually believe my biased unresearched rantings, but it never hurts to be safe.
Secondly, this is mostly for fun and though I will talk about politics, pop culture and other sometimes controversial topics, I am only still trying to figure out everything myself and am not trying to speak as an absolute authority.
Third, let me go into theme of this blog. The title of this site is a play off of the Beach Boys Pet Sounds album. To make a long story short, this last year I experienced hearing the Beach Boys Pet sounds album for the first time and it changed my creative life. I could tell you how it changed the musical landscape and how Brian Wilson’s arrangements are so different from anything created before, but that doesn’t do it justice. A friend of mine explains the listening experience as “the closest thing to being spiritual, next to talking to God”. I didn’t love Pet Sounds at first. My friend, who I considered to know a lot about music and as a talented musician told me about it, but I said I had heard the Beach Boys and knew what they were about. It wasn’t until I looked beyond the surface and discovered how genius Brian Wilson really was that I understand what my friend was talking about. In this blog I intend to spread the “gospel” of Brian Wilson and his works, as well as go beyond the headlines and hype to think critically about our world (though I will do much more of the first and much less of the second). Enjoy The Beach Blog, listen to Pet Sounds and start the revolution or a mild mannered one man revolt, either one works fine.
