I don’t usually like to get personal here but there has been some events leading up to this post that I believe warrant what I am going to share today.
Growing up in a household with 6 brothers wasn’t always the “fun” that everyone thinks it was. There were hard times. One multiple accounts we had powdered milk with our cereal, at breakfast. I specifically recall one instance where my mother added water to the Whole Milk to make it go all the way around. If that’s not enough; It wasn’t till the age of 7 till I had my first Happy Meal.
I “thought” raising 7 boys was expensive and that was the reason I only had what I wanted approx 21% of the time. Well, I was wrong. It turns out, my parents were making money on the side and in the most despicable way.
On a recent trip to Michaels for some art supplies and other hobby/craft items, I was walking through the frame isle as I do every time, and I spotted a familiar picture. Upon further discrimination, I realized why the picture seemed so familiar. It was a picture of me as a child being held by my mother. Once I got past the immature feelings of stardom, disgust settled in. My parents had been making millions off me and my brothers by selling placeholder images for picture frames.
I bought the frame and scanned in the photo and am posting it here in the hope my parents will see it and apologize.
