Not really. This is David Bazan, former lead singer of Pedro the Lion, which was disbanded after TW Walsh, left. He is now doing his own solo project called the soft drugs. Bazan (whom i’ve met*) has released his first solo work titled “FEWER MOVING PARTS”, a five song ep that also includes acoustic versions (that makes it equal a 10 song ep). You can listen to the new cd on purevolume. Ive heard a couple tracks, sounds great so far. Same great Bazan delivery, some new sounds. Wouldn’t be complete without some scathing critisisms of popular culture, christianity, and the latest news items. On that note, I will warn a couple of these songs deal with some heavy stuff. I am not standing for or against this, I’m just letting you know. He even deals with some personal stuff about the band breaking up on Fewer Broken Pieces.

For TW this is a little bit of a sound change. But I really like it.
