I first heard this song yesterday. I know I’m jumping on the Sufjan bandwagon later than most and I’m still not sure I love it, but I at least love this song.

It is the encaptulation of the early adolescent experience. The nervous, developing person encounters new joys, troubles and body parts. The song’s delivery and content is slightly melancholy, but it brings me a strange contentment, like the rays of the sun breaking the horizon on a chilly morning in the almond orchards of central California. I don’t know…maybe it’s just a good arrangement of musical notation. You can listen below.

The operator of this blog is in no way trying to steal or illegally distribute the music of Sujan Stevens or anyone else for that matter. I will take this song down if requested. The posting is simply meant to bring light to this song and the beautiful music of Sufjan Stevens and sometimes possibly Cat Stevens, though they are unrelated.

Don’t be confused as I once was about the non existing connection to Cat and Sufjan stevenns….as the former “Cat Stevens” is now known as Yusuf Islam, it is easy to think they are one in the same as Sufjan Stevens sounds like an islamic name as well. - John Carter

Thank you for your clarification. I did know they were completely unrelated but half of my two readers may have not known this. Though it is peculiar that they both can make me happy and have the same last name.

It’s like if I had a best friend named Red Swedish Fish.
