Though a cheasy and stupid example, it sometimes feels this is how we formulate our beliefs. Wether it is religion or science or our diet. We hold on to anything we can find and incorporate it, creating these personal manifestos on “how to handle everything”. That’s why when you announce your marriage you get “thats so exiting” and “thats the worse thing you could ever do”. What then, do we really know that is not conjecture. If we base our knowledge on experience, its essentially wrong. If we base our knowledge on previous study, how then is that better? It is only the experience of others. I guess that’s where we get common sense, which I actually like to term common wisdom.

How do we know gravity exists? We don’t. Common wisdom says that you fall if you jump, scientists invent gravity, but that doesn’t mean gravity exists, it simply is trying to explain what common wisdom tells us. Common Wisdom says you are stupid if you like to read about Britney Spears’ life. I will mock you in public if I found out and say you have no life. Does that mean you have no life? No, but common wisdom says that your stupid.
