Apple IPhone Announced

Steve Jobs watched Minority Report one too many times.

The new apple phone is a phone, internet communicator and ipod all-in-one. You can listen to music, watch video, make calls, view pictures, browse the internet (safari), send email and take pictures (it also a 2 mp camera). Plus it will run Mac OS X.

The device is controlled completely by a touchscreen interface. There is only one button, a home button. It is also widescreen for video playback, but can be titled vertically. The screen can then adjust by using an accelerometer to sense how it is being held.

It will also work as a controller for the Wii and is rumored to provide lasting salvation.*

Now many of you might think, I don’t need to do all that on my phone, and thats true. But it’s the interface and controls on this that really is going to make it a revolutionary product. Some us may never want to watch video at any time, but controls that don’t require buttons and a keyboard, can really change the way we do everything. Touch interaction is pretty amazing stuff. The Wii, using motion, took video gaming to babies and grandmas, touch interaction has the same potential.

*Not true, though with wifi, an accelerometer, bluetooth, a speaker and a completely customizable user interface, it technically has the potential to control the Wii, pretty sure it doesn’t provide salvation.

UPDATE: It will cost 500-600 dollars depending on model and is available in June.
