Daily Inspiration

From ever-talented Curtmerlo.com:

The End is Ne…

So I’m sure you’ve all heard about the apocalypse crazy fires going on in so cal. The one close to us has burned 15,000 acres and they believe it was started by arson.  I have another theory, so I’m gonna go buy this.  You might think I’m crazy but the sun isn’t dark at noon and the moon red at night where you live.  The random power outages and people wandering around with puffy red eyes don’t help.  Maybe I’ve just been watching this too many times.

Creativity A.K.A Daydreaming

If you READ my blog, you would know that a certain image was being considered for use as the logo for my local, yet widely unknown bike gang (it was the only entry. Inspired by recently working on my brother’s wedding invitation and an afternoon trip to the mall, (i only get ideas when my mind can wander…the mall…church…meetings in general) I came up with this. He’s part pirate, cop, bandito, lover, and amigo (means friend in M-E-X-I-C-A-N)…and some interior decorator thrown in for good measure. Try to call him Boba Pooh…see what happens.

Under Maintanace

I am moving this domain name to a different carrier and so my blog might be down for a day or two but don’t fret.  I will be back.

Lief Erikson Day or Something

This is old, but it’s still really funny. We need to get Curt Merlo to do some animation.

From the guy who made Internet People.

Irreparably Inadequate

This is the follow-up to the Dove Evolution video.

Mike Erre gave one of the best “teachings” last sunday I have ever heard that touched on this subject but with a much greater message. It takes a bit to get started but it’s something I think we all need to hear. It brought up some things to think about it (this is not a summary, listen to it).

1. We are imperfect. Everyone. Gays, straights, murderers and peacemakers.
2. We are loved despite our imperfection.

I think it’s important to notice that we aren’t loved because we are close to perfection or because we are trying for perfection. We are simply just loved. It’s also important to ask then if we are loved for no reason, how are we better than anyone else? Everyone has achieved the same level of perfection (none) that we have. The fact that we think the love we receive is because something we did is so ultimately selfish and sad. Sadder then is that we feel inadequate because we have not achieved the level of perfection we desire.

So what do we do now? How does this change how we treat others, how we critique ourselves?

Please listen to it here. Regardless of your religious preference.

The Ninja Musketeers Infinity (rejected entry)

So my last post was a mildly creative and not very amusing detailed illustration of the aggregate politics of southwestern Djibouti.

My buddy Moses suggested we use this as the symbol for our newly formed bike gang*. Which turned into Comment Fest 2007.

So this begs the question…If this image was our “avatar”, what do you guys think we should call it (the gang)?
