Pan Bagnat
Literally meaning “bathed bread,” this sandwich, which originates from the Provence region of southern France, makes great picnic fare and can be made up the night before to allow the flavors to mingle.
There is a whole mix of problems with this. This isn’t just your snickers bar getting smaller or your favorite mexican restaurant discontinuing free chips and salsa. Environmental, health, and social concerns seem to outweigh any benefit to the consumer. Actually this is only good for the manufacturer (which in this case, is what farmers become). They can copy their best animals, to get more beef and more milk. It won’t cost us any less. It won’t make us any healthier. It won’t reduce waste or carbon emissions.
The beautiful part of this system is what you think does have some weight. After the FDA makes a ruling they do accept public comments before they change any standards. Go here to comment. Don’t be too lazy to care because it will be too late to complain later.
EDIT: The docket for this ruling is not up yet, but continue to check back, it should be up soon.
Pesticides are convenient, but the easiest route isn’t the best. You best bet is to buy local grown organic fruits and vegetables. Organics that have to cross state and country lines may be sprayed to prevent spread of localized pests or diseases, which then destroys the whole reason for buying them.
I was known for my gameday lunches in high school during the soccer season. It consisted of a PBJ, carrots, an apple and a juice box. Now that I think of it, I should have called it the meal to eat so you have to do a down periscope right after warmups.
Thanks to reader BigBrotherJon for the “thesaurus”.
How do the japanese solve world peace? No…not by a poop and pee with faces. Coffee drinks bring out the cowboy, native american (or pacific islander for that matter), samurai, nun and animal in all of us, together.
Also, it’s official, I hate Starburst and Skittles, if you see me eating them slap my hand so I drop them. And in other candy news, I had the best salt water taffy ever on Balboa Island in Newport Beach. My brother hated them because he didn’t like the taste of peach mixed with butter. They have the most extensive selection of flavors I have ever seen. My favorite..Red Licorice. If you are ever in that area, it’s sold at a candy shop that I don’t know the name of.
